Biotown Ag

In 2010, StresCore had the opportunity to design, fabricate, and erect the plank for a unique green project for BioTown Ag, located in Reynolds, IN.

StresCore provided 10” hollowcore plank, designed for moderate spans, with additional top prestressing strand as a result of the potential of built up pressure as a result of the anaerobic digester process. This facility will produce methane gas, ammonia, water, and electrical power from the breakdown of livestock manure.

StresCore has provided plank for several similar projects. However, Biotown is the largest of the type we have produced with over 30,000 square feet of hollowcore plank. In 2011, Biotown expanded the digester and StresCore once again produced the plank for this growing and successful endeavor into the area of sustainable, green agricultural technology.

Larry Barnett, 33 years with StresCore

Our plant manager, Larry Barnett has retired after 33 loyal, hardworking years with StresCore. Larry will be spending time with his family in Michigan and winters in sunny Florida. Larry is widely know as the best golfer at StresCore. We anticipate him spending many hours on the course enjoying his retirement and improving his swing.

Larry graduated in 1970 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan. His technical knowledge and expertise are one of the strengths of StresCore. Larry served as an excellent mentor to Tony Laskowski over the years. Tony will be assuming Larry’s role this December.

Thank you for your many years of service at StresCore. You have been an a major part of our success over the years.

Plant Quality Control

StresCore is pleased to announce the transition of Aaron Johnson from our drafting department to Quality Control in the hollowcore plant.

Since coming aboard full time with StresCore in 2002, Aaron has worn many hats within our organization. From drafting, project management, IT specialist, and other abilities, Aaron brings a diverse skill set to the very important area of plant quality control. Aaron is a Level I and II PCI registered Quality Control Personnel Certified Technician and is familiar with the world of PCI inspections, materials testing, plank quality checks, and plant inventory.

StresCore would like to congratulate Aaron Johnson for his hard work and bright future with the company.

Company Baseball Outing

This summer, StresCore arranged a company outing at the South Bend Silverhawks Coveleski Stadium. Over forty StresCore employees, familiy members, and friends attended.

Unfortunately, the Silver Hawks lost a close one. However, everyone who attended enjoyed the perfect weather, great food, cold drinks, and the crack of the bat at the game. We look forward to making this and annual event and will anticipate even more attendees next year!

Eventually, we need to work our way up to a game at Wrigley Field. Go Cubbies.

New Casting Beds

StresCore is in the process of replacing three of our casting beds. Each bed will replaced over the course of three days. The old bed is removed, the heating system is checked, the pit is cleaned out as needed, and the new beds are installed.

This process will improve the finish of our hollowcore and allow us to maintain our excellent product to all of our customers.

New Travelift
